my dad, jerry brewer, served aboard the norton sound while he was stationed in port hueneme. we lived on base there. he has since passed away. leukemia, 1974. i was doing some searching to find record of his life and happened upon here. if anyone knew him, please email me what you knew of him. he was my hero. i am now 48 and wish i still had him to lean on today. thank you.

Rochelle--Thanks I will give that a try. BTW, our father wrote to Wm LaRochelle, the man who made the knot plaque for the reunion. Since then Mr. LaRochelle and Dad have talked at length on the phone. They served at the same time and have a lot in common. In its own way, it is another reunion. Thanks!

Wondering if anyone has any leads on where I might find be able to get find a plank. Have found that the Navy no longer issues these. I am looking for Wisden or his family. My daughter bought a mantle clock afixed with a plaque honoring YNCS Wisden on USS Norton Sound. No dates or other information was included. I thought perhaps he or his family would enjoy it and I would be happy to send it to them (free, not looking to sell it, jus thought he or they should have it). From an old former Marine ('59 to '63 and '78 to '81).
